SCAS BASICs is a team of enhanced paramedic and pre-hospital practitioners who volunteer to provide additional patient care, often at the more complex incidents where their enhanced skills and knowledge are able to supplement the care being given by the ambulance crew already on scene. The team need additional advanced equipment including the LUCAS 3 mechanical resuscitation device, advanced ventilation and ultrasound equipment all of which can enable them to support those patients more in need.
