South Central Ambulance Charity is an NHS Charity. It is an integral part of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS) raising funds to support elements of SCAS’s service that are not funded by the NHS.
The Charity is governed by a Corporate Trustee which is the SCAS Board. The Board delegate the overall governance of the Charity to the Charitable Funds Committee. Chaired by a Non-Executive Director the Charitable Funds Committee works with the Charity CEO and her team to develop strategy and to oversee the direction and development of the Charity.
The Charity is represented at Executive Board level by the Director of Strategy and Business Development and is operationally managed by the Charity CEO.
The Charitable Funds Committee is one of three sub committees at SCAS. It meets quarterly and discussions and developments are reported at each SCAS public Board meeting. The Committee is made up of Non-Executive and Executive Directors and is also attended by the Charity CEO, Head of Operations – Community Engagement and Training Team, Assistant Director of Finance and the Community First Responder Governor.
South Central Ambulance Charity is regulated by the Fundraising Regulator and is a member of the Institute of Fundraising and NHS Charities Together.
