South Central Ambulance Service has a committed team of over 1200 volunteers working across our service.  Volunteering is currently focused on operational delivery, providing clinical excellence and patient experience through the Community First Responder and Co-Responder programmes.  For our Volunteer Car Drivers working within our Patient Transport Service the focus is on ensuring patients in the community are able to access hospital services and attend medical appointments providing a friendly, safe and reliable service.  The SCAS Board recently agreed a new five year volunteering strategy which will seek to introduce a number of new roles both clinical and non-clinical, to support our services.  We have recently agreed a new volunteer strategy that will see the number and variety of volunteer roles increase across SCAS. You can read our new strategy here Volunteer Strategy 2021-2025
