Outrun an ambulance
How it works
How it works
This year’s Outrun an Ambulance challenge event will start in the new year!
From 1 January 2022 we are encouraging people to ‘go the extra mile’ and take part in this virtual event to see if you can complete a challenge to cover more miles than an emergency ambulance does in one shift.
Last year’s event saw fundraisers supporting SCAS and South Western Ambulance Service (SWAS) with SCAS supporters alone raising over £13,000! This year we are joined by friends and colleagues from London Ambulance Service, East of England Ambulance Service, North West Ambulance Service and Yorkshire Ambulance Service making this a national event and a fantastic way to support our ambulance staff and volunteers.
We have identified the mileages for various crews across the SCAS Area and all you need to do to sign up is to go to http://www.justgiving.com/campaign/scasoutrunanambulance2022 and set up your own page and share it with all your friends.
So what are you waiting for? If you’re up for our new year challenge we love you to join us.
Please get in touch if you want to hear more or visit http://www.outrunanambulance.co.uk
Participants can chose their ambulance from the list and over the course of three months clock up your mileage using whichever method of exercise you prefer – running, walking, cycling, swimming or other form of exercise.
Good luck and thank you for taking part!
NHS Big Tea 2022

How it works
How it works
Each year on the 5th July, all NHS Charities ask the nation to “brew up” and raise a cuppa to our incredible NHS Heroes whilst raising money for charity.
By holding an office tea party, a virtual cuppa n chat, or a picnic in the park in aid of our charity, you’ll be making a huge difference in enhancing patient care.
Each event can be in person or virtually, with your local community group, friends and family, colleagues, schools etc
So get planning and pop that kettle on…..
Challenge and third party events
There are many professionally organised running, cycling and walking events across the country managed by third party providers. We do not have any charity places in these events however this should not stop you from choosing to support your local ambulance service charity. The bonus of having your own place is that there is no minimum sponsorship target, just raise as much as you can!
If you do choose to sign up to a third party event as an own place participant do get in touch with us and we will be delighted to support you on your fundraising journey.
Here are some examples of events we recommend. This is list is not exclusive.
ABP Southampton Marathon
Tough Mudder
Great South Run
Reading Half Marathon
